July is racial harmony month in Singapore...tiny as this little red dot of an island is, Singapore is diverse in terms of culture and racial composition. Not taking our peace and harmony for granted, the Singapore government makes a concerted effort to maintain the equilibrium amongst the different races by promoting cross cultural exchanges, activities. Here, the Eurasian Association has dedicated their monthly Sunday luncheon to this event. We were encouraged to wear an outfit that would depict any of the races in Singapore. Dancers from the Eurasian Assn. performed traditional Portugese dances whilst the invited performers were a Banghra troupe. They were fantastic......the moves, the drums, the beat....everyone felt like getting up and dancing!
