GOLDEN PYTHON

.
It's owner was opening up his shop and this fella was left under the watchful eye of the owner of the pair of feet in the photo. Was I impressed? What do you think?
Appalled more likely. The next day we went by (Chaweng Beach Road of course) he was washing a small cobra! This guy is either nuts or has a fetish for reptiles. He sells "genuine" fake copy watches........for the uninitiated - this is an industry propelled by tourists..........in some countries (in Asia mainly) a genuine fake Rolex wouldn't be sold openly but in Koh Samui there were many shops selling genuine fakes! Every other tailor shop was an Armani and they had beautifully cut dresses/gowns/suits and big brand names all over the place. 24 hours was all they needed to get you togged out in designer labels. They were also doing a roaring trade. There were many make shift stalls/shops selling Prada/Gucci/LV bags and wallets and surprisingly many upmarket looking boutiques with the same stuff - probably better copies. Trust me none of them were "genuine" genuine!

Sadly there was only one Jim Thompson boutique - in the Centara Hotel. There was nothing really authentic Thai in the rest of Koh Samui that I could find. Maybe I wasn't looking in the right places.
