Rather random and not related to my creations, I happened to also notice this pot that I've hung under a tree in the garden is in full bloom. The reason why I'm slightly excited about it is because of the number of buds that have sprouted. On almost every leaf there is a bud, some might be ready to bloom tonight. This is an interesting plant. The buds start to slowly open around 9 pm, have a beautiful fragrance and by midnight they're in full bloom, and will stay open for a couple of hours only.
The Chinese believe that this is a 'good luck' plant mainly because they don't bloom so readily and when they do they open and shut really quickly. For us, we are just thrilled that there is a possibility of at least 10 flowers over a period and we look forward to the perfume that will permeate the air at night.
